Bishop Carl A. Kemme and Fr. Chad Arnold are surrounded by nearly all of the seminarians of the Diocese of Wichita in a group photo taken Friday, July 28, in the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Wichita. Fr. Arnold is director of Vocations. The seminarians took part in a Mass for Candidacy. Candidacy is one of the significant steps a seminarian takes before receiving Holy Orders. The rite emphasizes two main promises the candidate makes to the bishop: to complete his education and formation in order to be prepared to assume ministry within the church, and to prepare in mind and spirit to give faithful service to Christ the Lord and his body, the church.
