Ministries

The diocesan Curia collaborates and shares in the ministry of the Bishop. The curia has both instrumental and ministerial characteristics. It is instrumental in that the various offices exist and operate according to the ministry of the Bishop, acting on his authority and in accordance with his priorities and plans. It is ministerial in that the curia approaches the pastors and the parishes with a servant mentality.

As faithful disciples of Jesus Christ, we are called to build up the people of God in the Diocese of Wichita in holiness and joy through works of love.

The Office of Marriage and Family Life promotes, defends and provides pastoral formation on marriage and family life.

Catholic cemeteries are places of prayer, hope and memory. Cemeteries are places where family members may visit and remember their loved ones as they pray for them in the certain hope of our resurrection.

Respect Life & Social Justice

The Respect Life & Social Justice Office assists the bishop in proclaiming the dignity of human life -created in the Image of God -as the basis for the fundamental human right to life; and applying the Church’s social doctrine to local situations.

Father Emil Kapaun

Father Kapaun was a Catholic Priest and Korean War hero from the Diocese of Wichita. He was awarded the Medal of Honor in 2013 and is on the road to sainthood in the Catholic Church. Servant of God Father Emil Kapaun, pray for us!

Faith Formation

The office of Faith Formation provides resources, training, policy guidance and oversight for catechetical, missionary and youth ministries for children, youth and young adults ages preschool through college in parishes and institutions throughout the diocese in a non-school setting.
