We have our application and paperwork process streamlined through our employment portal. The link to our portal can be found here:
By using this link, you can create one application, submit your additional items (transcripts, references, etc.) once, AND apply for multiple positions. When you have submitted your application, the administrators for your specific positions will be notified by email. The administrators will contact you for an interview. We encourage you to check back frequently, as more jobs may be posted that interest you. If that happens, you have the opportunity to update your application and resubmit.
FAITH. The ability to openly practice your faith in your professional life, have consistent opportunities to grow spiritually, help others get to heaven, form your students’ hearts, accompany them on their faith journey, partner with families in their spiritual growth, frame your conversations in faith, and more, so much more is the best part of working for our schools.
Opportunities abound! Our faculties meet every morning to pray together. Many schools have ongoing formation opportunities throughout the school year from prayers, devotions, adoration, small group studies, and more. Each year, faculties enjoy a retreat day together. Every other year, our Diocesan team hosts the Regan Institute, modeled after a SEEK conference, with breakout sessions, a keynote speaker, praise and worship music, Mass, Adoration, Confession, community, and collaboration time.
Where do we even begin? First, we are deep into a multi-year initiative for John Hattie’s Visible Learning program. This program uses research to support the best teaching strategies for the largest effect sizes on student learning. In addition, each school also provides a variety of opportunities for teachers to grow in their knowledge as identified by their faculty and administration. Finally, we participate in all mandatory state training.
We have several levels of support for our new teachers! Both at the Diocesan and school levels, we provide orientation for new employees. In addition, each new to the profession teacher is assigned a mentor teacher to guide them throughout their first two years of teaching. Our mentoring program meets the State of Kansas requirements for transitioning your initial license to a professional license. For experienced teachers, our schools offer a mentor to help you learn about the individual school.
This is a pastor’s decision, but many of our pastors will hire non-Catholic teachers! Of course, we do actively teach and live our faith, so non-Catholic teachers are asked to be willing to support our faith in all aspects of the school. We have found our non-Catholic teachers to be warmly welcomed and vital parts of our mission and programs. Currently, 12% of our faculty are non-Catholic.
Our Diocese provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, short and long-term disability, flex spending, health savings account, sick leave, parental leave (including foster care and adoption), 401K plan, 401K match, and employee assistance program for mental and emotional health.
We ask each school to be competitive with their local public district when offering salaries. Mrs. Eaton, our Superintendent, has challenged each parish to work hard to get closer and closer to the local district pay. Our goal is to be between 80-85% of the local district. With that said, we offer many intangible benefits from engaged families, fewer discipline issues, cohesive communities, and the ability to practice one’s faith both personally and professionally. In addition, our Diocesan capital campaign has prioritized the establishment of an endowment to improve salaries.
No, we do not! Teachers are afforded professional discretion in organizing plans and the timing of lessons. Teaching must adhere to our faith, and outside resources should be vetted before use. Our Diocese is state-accredited and follows the Kansas state standards.
