Chancery Colleagues Establish Bryan Coulter Memorial Seminary Burse
This past Dec. 3 we learned of the death of our friend and colleague, Bryan Coulter. Bryan, having served just over 19 years in his capacity as the director of Finance and Administrative Services, was a part of pretty much everything here at the Curia of the Diocese of Wichita. He left his mark on so many over the years, helping parishes, creating programs and assisting ministries in so many ways. He wasn’t only our chief financial officer, but the one you called when you needed help or advice with a small or large project. He knew our pastors well and could easily rattle off the history (after looking at his copious notes) of any project undertaken in the past two decades. He was the one you called when the toilet was down or when the alarm went off and you forgot the code. He unlocked doors and worked tireless hours for the benefit of each of us and for the good people of the diocese. But more than all that, he was a great man of faith. He loved the Catholic Church, attended Mass many times during the week, served two bishops, and saw his children grow into strong and vibrant young Catholics – one ordained a priest of our diocese. And, one day after Bryan’s funeral, his daughter Aubrey, took a vow as a perpetual virgin.
As a small way of memorializing the gifts that Bryan Coulter brought to us during his tenure, his colleagues have established the Bryan Coulter Memorial Seminary Burse, benefiting the education of seminarians in the Diocese of Wichita. Bryan’s legacy truly lives on through his wife, Jodi, their six children, and grandchildren, but, in a huge way, through the work of the church in the Diocese of Wichita. Those interested in making a contribution in memory of Bryan Coulter may mail a check to 424 N. Broadway, Wichita, KS or click here to make your gift online.
