Happy New Year!  Wait, before you hit that snooze button, read on.  “Stay awake!”  It’s the official start of the next Liturgical Year in the Church.  The fireworks that kick off this tradition start with one candle, one flame, one hope.  God renewed the world through Noah and his family.  The world sounded very dark back then.  Noah and his family carried the light in the darkness.  We, too, carry that light.  Each year, our diocese needs to renew its commitment to the stewardship way of life.  As faithful disciples, we need to RESPOND as Noah and his family did and accept God’s offer to RESCUE us.  God didn’t build the Ark for Noah.  Noah put in the effort with his family.  God is not going to put in our effort to carry on Stewardship as a way of life.  We need to RESPOND to our parish’s efforts.  Don’t sleep through another year of stewardship opportunities.  Try something new and don’t hit snooze!
