Sidewalk Advocates for Life
Sidewalk Advocates for life is a national program sponsored locally
by the Respect for Life and Social Justice office. It is a peaceful and
compassionate way to do outreach outside of abortion clinics and
connect women and men to resources they may need to choose life and obtain healing.

What to Expect
Training and First time
Training is typically done in a 6-hour session. It walks volunteers through each situation they could encounter on the sidewalk. The training is video based, but stops for questions, breaks, and local information.
After training, volunteers schedule their first few times on the sidewalk with the Sidewalk Advocate Coordinator or an experienced advocate. This helps ensure that new volunteers are comfortable. We highly recommend volunteers go in pairs.
What to Expect
Volunteering
We help connect women and men to resources they may need to choose life and obtain healing. Volunteers can be a sidewalk advocate (reaching out to clients, support persons, abortion workers, etc.) or can be a prayer partner for a sidewalk advocate. We ask volunteers to make a monthly or weekly commitment of at least one hour.
