The Ongoing Formation Phase

'Show me the way'  John 14:5-6

"Thomas said to him, 'Master, we do not know where you are going; how can we know the way?'  Jesus said to him, 'I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through me."

Stewardship is ongoing:  one of the keys to a vibrant parish and a successful stewardship renewal is to form stewards year round

The Ongoing Formation Phase is a time for intense and ongoing formation for parish Stewardship Council members and parishioners.  It is also an opportune time for the parish Stewardship Council to discern, plan and develop the steps it will take in continuing the formation of all members of the parish in the spirituality of stewardship and forming disciples.

"The main thing is to know the main thing and to keep the main thing the main thing... And the main thing is relationships... relationships with God and with each other."
Bishop Robert Morneau

Stewardship is how we live out our baptismal call to discipleship.  As disciples we share the Good News and grow in our relationship with Jesus and each other.  We help those less fortunate, we celebrate vibrant Liturgies, we support our parish family and actively participate in our communities and we pray with and for each other.

"Stewardship begins with a conversion of heart.  The true steward makes a commitment to the Lord - not merely to the parish.  He gives his life to God because he wants to follow Him, and everything else - his time, his talent and his treasure - follows suit.  That being said, however, it is important to recognize that some of your parishioners may come to conversion through participation in parish ministries."  Msgr. Thomas McGread
