The Medical Assistant works to assist the staff and volunteer medical providers in the provision of care and follow up to the uninsured and disadvantaged patients of Guadalupe Clinic.  This position will be full time and is supervised and reports to the Director of Nursing.      



  • Graduate of a program providing training in the technical and clinical skills pertaining to the practice of a Medical Assistant preferred.
  • Bi-lingual and fluent with the ability to write in both English and Spanish.
  • Willing to work with people from various socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds.
  • Possess communication skills and maintain a strict sense of confidentiality required as it pertains to patient/clinic information and medical records.


  • Perform the duties of the Medical Assistant in support of clinic practitioners and staff.
  • Perform procedures including injections, EKGs, nebulizer treatments, treadmill testing, wound care, and others as required. 
  • Properly document and enter information correctly and diligently into the Electronic Medical Record (EMR).  Maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Organize, supply and clean clinical areas.
  • Obtain, label and preserve diagnostic specimens.
  • Follow up on patient care utilizing in person and phone communication skills.
  • Label medications for dispensing, provide patient education and follow up as needed.
  • Opportunity for outreach to the most vulnerable population in our community.
  • Responsible for following the Catholic Diocese of Wichita Personnel Guidelines.
