Vietnamese martyrs honored — A procession of holy martyr relics was part of the 30th Annual Vietnamese Martyrs Memorial Mass Friday through Sunday, Nov. 16-18, at All Saints Parish in Wichita. Sung vespers Dec. 16 at Resurrection
The faithful are invited to a Church of the Resurrection sung vespers service at 5 p.m. on the third Sunday of Advent, Dec. 16. The church is located at 4910 N. Woodlawn in Wichita.
Organ prelude music begins at 4:45 p.m. and will be played on the church’s Berghaus pipe organ by parish organist Kathy Fehrmann.
Vespers, also called Evening Prayer, is part of the Liturgy of the Hours, in which the church fulfills Jesus’ command to “pray always” (Luke 18:1).

Monthly bingo at Sacred Heart Parish, Colwich, Jan. 6
Monthly cash bingo will be held beginning at 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 6, in the Religious Education Building at Sacred Heart Parish in Colwich.
Doors open at 1 p.m. The suggested donation is $3 for one card for all 21 games, or $8 for three cards for all games. Snacks and desserts will be available.
Proceeds from the event will benefit the retired priests and seminarians of the Diocese of Wichita and other Catholic charities.

Christmas Midnight Mass at Blessed Sacrament, Wichita
A Midnight Mass will be celebrated at Blessed Sacrament Church in Wichita for those who want to participate in the traditional Christmas event.
Father Andrew Heiman, pastor, will chant the Christmas proclamation at the liturgy. The Blessed Sacrament choir will lead familiar Christmas carols and other classic Christmas music, accompanied by a string quartet made up of musicians from the Wichita Symphony, flautist Veronica Mascaro, and organist Patrick Harms.
The tradition of Midnight Mass was first observed in the late 300s in Jerusalem. The tradition reached the west in the year 430 under Pope Sixtus II in the Basilica of St. Mary Major in Rome.

St. Patrick hosting Our Lady of Guadalupe festival Dec. 9-12
St. Patrick School in Wichita will host a festival in honor of Our Lady of Guadalupe Sunday through Wednesday, Dec. 9-12.
Here are the times: Sunday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Monday, 4 to 9 p.m.; Tuesday, noon to 9 p.m.; and Wednesday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Activities will take place in the school gym, except for Mañanitas and Mass in the church. The festival includes prayer, dances, games, food, and a raffle.
Proceeds will help the school. The public is invited.
