Docentium returns to the SLC this month
Joel Arnold will make a presentation about a variety of modern saints at the next Docentium Thursday, Feb. 28, at the Spiritual Life Center in Wichita. Arnold will discuss the lives and lesser known anecdotes of various modern saints during the program.
Docentium programs include food, friendship, and learning. Doors open at 6:15 p.m., dinner is served at 6:30, and a lecture follows given on a topic related to religion and culture. The cost is $15 per person.

Kids Mass back on calendar after SLC remodel completed
The monthly Mass for children at the Spiritual Life Center in Wichita has been on hiatus during the building’s recent remodel. But the popular program returns this month.
“KidsPrayToo! Mass with Children” welcomes caregivers and their children to the Spiritual Life Center for a special daily Mass. Spring dates are Feb. 22, April 23, and May 16. Mass begins at 11:15 a.m. This program gives parents and caregivers an opportunity to teach their children without worrying about disturbing other Mass-goers around them.
All families are invited to pack a lunch to enjoy in the dining room or courtyard afterwards. No registration is necessary.

EA meeting at SLC
Emotions Anonymous open meetings will be offered each Wednesday from noon to 1 p.m. at the Spiritual Life Center in Wichita.
Those experiencing overwhelming emotions such as anxiety, anger, resentment, shame or fear, are welcome. EA is a 12-step group designed to offer support and serenity while living with unsolved problems.

‘Grieving with Great Hope’ Feb. 7 at SLC
Those who have lost a loved one through death are invited to the new Catholic Grief Support program at the Spiritual Life Center. Parish grief ministers are also welcome.
Grieving the loss of a loved one is a painful and sometimes lonely journey which seems to have no end.
The six-week DVD series “Grieving with Great Hope” combines practical wisdom, sharing and meaningful ritual to help participants grieve with great hope, make wise choices and maybe make new friends. Jesus will be the role model on how to grieve.
The series will be held Thursday evenings from Feb. 7 through March 14, 7 to 9 p.m., at the Spiritual Life Center, 7100 E. 45th St. Wichita. Cost is $20 and includes a participant guide. Call 744-0167 or email slc@slcwichita.org.
