SOMMELIER SMACK-DOWN

The Sommelier Smack-Down and Master’s Experience will take place on October 21, 2018 in Wichita, Kansas at Newport Grill.

Six sommeliers will compete to pair a red and a white wine with a dish prepared by chefs from three of the best restaurants in Wichita: Newport Grill, WoodFire Grille and Chester’s Chop House & Wine Bar.  This is one of Wichita’s premier wine events, so mark your calendars and get your tickets early! Our Master’s Experience has limited spaces available.

Although only one sommelier can be voted the winner of Sommelier Smack-Down, everyone is a winner, especially the patients of Guadalupe Clinic who will benefit from this wonderful event.  Your attendance provides quality healthcare for the uninsured in Wichita and surrounding areas. You make the difference.

Our History

In 1985, six volunteer nurses decided to change the face of medicine in Wichita.  They wanted quality affordable health care made available to everyone, regardless of income.  They founded Guadalupe Health Station, which later was renamed Guadalupe Clinic.  Now some 32 years later, there are three clinics and volunteers and staff also provide outreach services at various locations around Wichita.  Guadalupe Clinic has been a donation-based clinic since its inception in 1985. Patients are asked for a $5 donation and receive a doctor's care, lab tests, x-rays, and medication for that donation. No one is ever turned away due to an inability to donate.   Medical volunteers along with staff provide thousands of medical services each year to those in our community with no insurance or other affordable means to health care services.

These are the many companies and foundations that have provided Guadalupe Clinic with needed funding through grant opportunities. We are humbled and grateful for their belief in our mission and for all of their generous support.
