Planning for the Future

The Diocese of Wichita is conducting a comprehensive feasibility study, now through the end of March. After months of prayer and discussion, Bishop Carl A. Kemme, along with diocesan and lay leaders, have identified several extraordinary opportunities and needs that go beyond the day-to-day. Needs that will help to fulfill our mission to “go forth faithfully to preach the Gospel to all God’s children and to evangelize today’s culture.” 

Proposed projects and priorities:  

• Catholic School Teacher Salary Enhancements 
• Catholic Youth and Family Camp 
• Helping Those who are Underprivileged 
• Individual Parish Needs / Parish Share 
• Cathedral Domes and Windows Restoration 

The diocese is considering a major fundraising effort to address these priorities

But we need your help, your voice and your gifts. The decisions we make now and the steps we take can help the Catholic Church flourish in south-central Kansas – not just for today, but for generations to come. Please take a few minutes to review the Fact Sheet linked above and take the 10-minute planning study survey. 

Your feedback will enable us to determine potential support for these needs. If we, as a faith community, choose to move forward, the planning study will also provide us with information to help identify prospective campaign leaders and establish a realistic campaign goal. The findings of the study, including the viability of a campaign, will be presented later this year. At that time, we will make an informed decision regarding how to move forward.
