2015 December College Age Ministry Highlights

December 15 is the early bird deadline to get a great deal on the Catholic College Student Convocation taking place at Prairie Star Ranch on February 5-7, 2016. KNOCK2016 is the name of the event sponsored by The St. Lawrence Center at KU. Come and grow in your understanding of the Catholic faith.

Wasn't Christmas the best when we were little--and just couldn't wait for Santa? Our parents helped mark the days with Advent Calendars filled with small doors for each day. Here is an Advent Calendar for grown-ups from the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) with links to prayers and tips for each day.

Feeling the rush of the end of the semester and feel like you don't have time for Advent? Check out Experiencing Advent Deeply for Busy People from Creighton Online Ministries. It contains just one or two ideas to ease you through this holy season.

For more prayers, reflections and tips for each week of Advent, see the full menu of Advent resources from Creighton Online Ministries.

If you have time during the winter break, consider volunteering at one of the Lord's Diner locations. Here is information you will need to obtain a Food Handler's Card to allow you to serve.

If you don't have time to serve, consider dropping off new winter hats, gloves, scarves and white tube socks at the Lord's Diner for their guests.

During the break, why not take a VIRTUS safe environment class so that you can volunteer at your local parish as a catechist assistant and/or youth ministry helper? You will learn TONS about your faith and the young people will be thrilled to have you as a big brother/sister in faith!

Create or find your ugly Christmas sweater and join us for an evening of food, prayer and fun at the College Age Advent/Christmas gathering at St. Vincent de Paul Parish in Andover on December 20 from 6-11pm. This is open to all college age Catholics! RSVP for dinner by Monday, December 14.
