Blind and Visually Impaired

  • The Catholic Advance is available on the Air Capitol Telephone Reading Service.  Anyone who is blind, visually impaired or has a print disability (dyslexia, non-reader) may access this service.  In order to access the service, an application will need to be completed.  Call the Ministry with Persons with Disabilities at 316-269-3900 for more information or to apply.
  • Volunteers are needed to read and record The Catholic Advance. If you would like to volunteer, please click here
  • The Xavier Society for the Blind, which provides Catholic religious and spiritual resources free of charge to individuals who are blind or have low vision. The Xavier Society offers a large lending library that can be searched on their interactive website at www.xaviersocietyfortheblind.org. Among its offerings are religion textbooks, Mass Propers, and devotional materials. It also serves clients with other disabilities that impede an ability to read traditional print or hold written materials, such as dyslexia or spinal injuries.
  • Many parishes have large-print missalettes and hymnals available for use. Please ask an usher for one before Mass.
