The Catholic Diocese of Wichita is seeking a dedicated individual to serve as a full-time Program Coordinator for Young Adult and College Ministry in the Office of Faith Formation. This person will provide service, resources, training, and policy guidance for parishes, pastors, young adult ministry leaders, college campuses, and other parish staff and volunteers. This individual will assist parishes in establishing, growing and maintaining robust outreach and ministry to college-aged students and young adults within their jurisdictions and on the campuses located within the Diocese of Wichita.
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications:
• Practicing Catholic who is an active and faithful steward in one’s parish
• Extensive, successful parish and Catholic community experience working in young adult ministry, and/or college ministry. Those with experience in youth ministry will be considered
• Fluency in Spanish very helpful. Extensive experience and knowledge working with predominantly Latino parish populations is a must
• Willingness to work effectively with pastors, parish young adult ministry leaders, young adults, lay volunteers, the Office of Faith Formation staff, and other Curia Offices
• Proven administrative skills, including interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, collaboration and budget preparation
• Knowledge of Church teaching and relevant theology and practice of young adult and college ministry
• Ability to travel with frequency to train personnel (paid and volunteer) in parishes and colleges to establish, grow, and maintain ministry to young people
• Bachelor’s in theology, ministry or related field strongly preferred
• Respect for and ability to work with and across different cultures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office required; social media and website experience helpful. Experience with video software, A/V equipment and design, a plus
