The Catholic Diocese of Wichita is seeking an exceptional Catholic man or woman to serve as our full-time Director of Diocesan Office for Leadership in Missionary Discipleship. This is a newly created position that will support the Diocesan Pastoral Plan and respond to Pope Francis’ call for Catholics to become fully alive as Missionary Disciples. This individual will provide resources, training and coaching opportunities, for pastors, parish leaders, school faculties and Diocesan Offices. This will involve awakening, empowering and accompanying the faithful of the Diocese to become leaders in missionary discipleship.

It is expected that candidates will have the following qualifications:

• Practicing Catholic in good standing and an active and faithful steward in one’s parish.
• Person of deep prayer and an appetite for learning.
• Enthusiastic, engaging and energetic promoter of evangelization.
• Experience and knowledge in forming disciples for mission.
• Proper theological and pedagogical training or proven skills. Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Catechesis or Evangelization required. Equivalent work experience in evangelization, mission or catechesis would be considered.
• Excellent written, verbal and public speaking skills necessary to communicate clearly and persuasively.
• Experience working effectively with pastors in their unique parish situations.
• Proven administrative skills, experience in interpersonal relations, conflict resolution, collaborative management style, and budget preparation.
• Minimum 5 years of parish, diocesan curia or equivalent job experience.
• Willingness to regularly travel throughout the diocese for onsite work.
• Experience in ecclesial/ministerial visioning and planning including familiarity with Church structures and systems to implement the Diocesan Pastoral Plan
• Ability to coordinate, schedule and provide leadership in an ecclesiastical setting
• Ability to work in collaboration with other diocesan offices to communicate and implement the Diocesan Pastoral Plan.
