The Diocese of Wichita is seeking an outstanding individual to serve as Diocesan Safe Environment Coordinator. This individual will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the Diocesan response to the USCCB Charter for the Protection of Children and Young People. Duties will include assisting in the coordination, communication, implementation and support of compliance with the Diocesan Safe Environment Program and serving as a resource for pastors, parishes, diocesan schools and other diocesan entities.
Position Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Management, Counseling or other related field preferred.
• Practicing Catholic in good standing and an active steward in one’s parish preferred.
• Proven presentation and facilitation skills.
• Strong business writing skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to travel and work occasional evenings and weekends, conducting training sessions and auditing compliance.
• Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Power Point. Database experience preferred.
• Excellent professionalism, telephone etiquette and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with pastors, Diocesan employees, Curia Offices, representatives of other agencies and the general public.
• Ability to multi-task, work independently, respect confidentiality and make responsible judgment calls.
