Attendees of the Diocese of Wichita's 2025 Seasoned Servants Symposium proceed along the lunch buffet. That event was at St. Catherine of Siena, which will also host the Senior Adult Appreciation Mass and Luncheon scheduled for March 18.

Bishop to preside over celebration of diocese’s senior adults

By Bonnie Toombs

Our diocese is blessed by the wisdom, faith, and lifelong dedication of our senior adults, and we are delighted to honor them in a special way. Please join us at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, March 18 at St Catherine of Siena Catholic Church in Wichita for a Senior Adult Appreciation Mass and Luncheon, a joyful day of prayer, fellowship, and gratitude, celebrated with Bishop Carl A. Kemme.

The day will begin with a special Mass celebrated by Bishop Kemme, offering us the opportunity to come together in thanksgiving for the many ways our senior members have enriched our diocese and wider community. Through their prayers, service, and example of faithful living, our seniors continue to inspire subsequent generations.

Following Mass, all senior adults are invited to a luncheon held in their honor. This will be a relaxed and festive time to enjoy good food, meaningful conversation, and warm fellowship with friends old and new.

Whether you have been part of your parish for decades or are newer to our community, we hope you will feel welcomed, appreciated, and celebrated.

Cost is $18 per person for lunch. The deadline for reservations is Monday, March 2. To make a reservation, send $18 to the Office of Respect Life & Social Justice, 424 N Broadway, Wichita, KS 67202. Checks should be made payable to the Catholic Diocese of Wichita.

We look forward to celebrating with you and honoring the vital role our senior adults play in the life of our Church. Please plan to join us for this special day of gratitude and joy.
