Wichita blogger wins national pro-life award
Catholic Fire, a blog by Jean Heimann, has received an award for the Best Overall Pro-Life Blog from the American Life League.
Heimann, a member of Church of the Resurrection St. Francis of Assisi Parish, Wichita, will receive her award during an A.L.L. conference Jan. 10 in Washington, D.C. – if she can get there.
The league is providing hotel accommodations but not transportation. Because of financial difficulties she isn’t able to buy a plane ticket. Those who wish to help her get to the conference may go to her award-winning blot at to make a donation.

Hutch Knights hosting German sausage dinner on Jan. 31
HUTCHINSON – Hutchinson’s tri-parish Knights of Columbus council will host its 70th annual German Sausage and Sauerkraut Dinner from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, at Trinity High School.
The school is located at 17th and Lorraine. All proceeds will go to Trinity and other charities.

Pro-life breakfast Jan. 17 at St. Jude Parish
WICHITA – A pro-Life breakfast sponsored by St. Jude Knights of Columbus will be served from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday, Jan. 17.
On the menu are biscuits and gravy, eggs, and hash browns.
All proceeds go to pro-life ministries.

Kingman clinic Saturday, Jan. 16
The St. Gianna Health Clinic will be open from 8:30 a.m. to noon Saturday Jan. 16, at the Methodist Church, 133 E. D, Kingman.
The clinic is free for the uninsured. Those planning to attend should bring proof of income.

Winter adult Bible study begins Jan. 24 at St. Francis of Assisi
WICHITA – A seven week Bible study, “Israel’s Story - Part 1,” from the Little Rock Scripture Study, begins Jan. 24, at St. Francis of Assisi Parish.
The study will cover the first part of the Old Testament from the creation stories to the prophets. Participants have a choice of attending on Sunday mornings, or on Wednesday or Thursday evenings. The cost is $20 for materials. For more information or to sign up, call Sue Willey at 721-0354.

Cancer support meeting Feb. 4
A Take My Hand cancer support meeting will be held from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 4, in the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Library, 645 N. 119th St., Wichita.
Dr. Hanna Razak, a pathologist and cancer survivor from the Heartland Research Center will speak Questions and answers will follow.
