In addition to monetary donations, Catholic Charities programs need in-kind donations (or donated items) throughout the year to better provide for our clients and keep operating costs at a minimum.
Do you have used clothing to donate?
Due to a lack of storage and staff we do not accept any used clothing items. We collaborate with United Methodist, Open Door. Our clients can pick out clothing they need for FREE!
Please take your used clothing donation directly to 402 E. 2nd Street North, Wichita, KS 67202 (the Northeast corner of 2nd and Topeka. Entrance for the Klothes Kloset is off the alley on the east side of the building). They also accept used household items and hygiene products Mon-Fri 8:00 am - 3:00 pm and Saturdays 9:00 - noon. Call 316-265-4252 if you have questions.
Do you have a large appliance or furniture item to donate?
Catholic Charities refers clients and donors to His Helping Hands (operated by Central Christian Church Ministry). 1441 E. 37th Street North (intersection of Hydraulic & 37th St. North). They accept donations 9:00 am - 4:00 pm Monday- Friday. If you have questions please call 316-838-8528.
Where should you take your donations?
Due to a lack of storage we ask that you take donations for St. Anthony Family Shelter directly to 256 Ohio Street. Please note that the shelter does not have a place to wash and sanitize used items, so please only donate new items.
Harbor House donations can be dropped off Mon-Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm at 437 N. Topeka. Please contact Amy Smith at

Items we are not equipped to accept may be needed by other organizations in our community. Here are a few suggestions.
Catholic Charities programs are unable to accept large donations like furniture items or appliances. Please consider donating these items to His Helping Hands, a ministry operated by Central Christian Church. They can be reached at (316) 838-8528. Catholic Charities clients are able to access services from this organization so any donations of furniture and appliances they receive are greatly appreciated by both organizations.
In addition to large items such as furniture and appliances, Catholic Charities programs are without a place to wash and sanitize used clothing. Please consider sending all clothing donations to the United Methodist Open Door Klothes Kloset. This ministry offers a retail store setting, but is at no cost to clients. Once a month, clients can receive free clothing for their families. The Klothes Kloset can be reached at (316) 265-1670. It is located at 228 S Ellis Street.
Car donations may be given to Holy Savior Catholic Academy’s St. Vincent De Paul Society Cars for the Poor Program. This program takes in vehicles of all conditions and is able to fix them into working condition and pass them on to clients in need at no cost or a minimal cost that remains well below fair market value. Please contact Tom at (316) 208-4090 for more information.
