Bishop’s Christmas Eve Mass will be at OLL in Pittsburg

The traditional Christmas Eve Mass celebrated by the bishop will take place in Pittsburg this year.
“Normally, this Mass is televised from the beautiful Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Wichita,” Bishop Carl A. Kemme said.
“This year, to enhance a greater unity throughout the diocese, I decided to offer the televised Christmas Eve Mass at Our Lady of Lourdes in Pittsburg. The church there has been recently renovated, which will make a splendid liturgical setting for Christmas Eve Mass. I hope many will be able to watch the Mass from this beautiful church of our diocese.”
The Mass will be celebrated and videotaped at 5:30 p.m. in Our Lady of Lourdes Church on Sunday, Dec. 24. It will be broadcast later in the evening in the Pittsburg and Wichita viewing areas:
• Pittsburg: KFJX Fox 14, 11 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24; and 10 a.m. Monday, Dec. 25.
• Wichita: KWCH 12, 11:05 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24; and 7 a.m. Monday, Dec. 25; KDCU 31, midnight to 2 a.m.
The Mass is being broadcast through the generous support of the diocesan Catholic Cemeteries office, Pie Five Pizza Co., Applebee’s, Downing & Lahey, Freddy’s, Fugate Enterprises, Taco Bell, Pizza Hut, Van Becelaere Machine Works, Key Management, Kruse Corporation, Midwest Minerals, Ryan Insurance, and Simpson Construction Services.
