"The first time I really thought about the priesthood was when I first started altar serving, I looked out to the congregation and finally saw the church from our priest’s perspective and I thought, “Please do not let me mess up in front of all these people.”  I have since come a long way with my thoughts toward a vocation.  The summer that I graduated from high school I went on a mission trip.  Working outside with people who needed help really gave me perspective on what was important in my life.  I had the desire to bring the same hope that we brought to people in need to my neighbors.  That was an eye opener for me, it was a truth that I felt I had always known in the back of my mind, but I had never taken the time to examine.  This was the start of my serious discernment."
