Sedgwick County Detention Facility

Adult Detention

Sedgwick County Detention Facility is located at 141 W. Elm, Wichita, KS 67203. At SCDF we have the opportunity to minister to women and men.  We have Confession/Mass for women inmates every other Thursday from 7:00 p.m.- 8:30 p.m. We also offer Confession/Mass for male inmates on every other Friday, opposite week of women, from 7:00 p.m.-8:30 p.m.

At SCDF all of our volunteers fill out a volunteer application form and are approved through Christian Ministries To Offenders, Inc. CMO is the approved ministry at Sedgwick County Detention Facility for all religious and spiritual programing. CMO operates under the authority of the Sedgwick County Sheriff's Office.

Juvenile Detention

The Juvenile Detention Ministry is located at the Sedgwick County Juvenile Detention Facility, 700 S. Hydraulic Ave., Wichita, KS 67211.  Volunteer opportunities are on Mondays at the SCJDF from 6:30 p.m.-7:30 p.m. We offer Catechism/Bible Study three times a month and Confession/Mass one time a month.

Butler County Detention Facility

 

Butler County Detention Facility is located at 701 Stone Rd., El Dorado, KS 67042.  It is approximately 1 mile east of the city of El Dorado on Highway 54.  BCDF opened in Jan 2003 and is a 230 bed facility that houses men and women inmates.  The facility hosts not only Butler County, but also the U.S. Marshall Service, Immigration and Naturalization Service and various other outside law enforcement agencies.  As volunteers at BCDF, we visit the facility on Friday evenings from 6:30 p.m.-8:30 p.m. Two nights a month we offer catechism/bible study and on the other two Friday nights we offer Confession/Mass.
