Pope Francis Build

The Pope Francis Build is a collaborative project of the Wichita Diocese and Habitat for Humanity, to honor Pope Francis. This year's home will be built at 1227 N Estelle, in Holy Savior Catholic Church boundaries.

Build dates: August 17- October 20, 2017 (Work days are Thursdays and Fridays 8 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.)

Why participate?
• Honor the work of Pope Francis for his commitment to social justice and reinvigorating the Catholic Church.
• Initiate a sense of solidarity with your family, friends, and parish community and our neighbors in need.
• Foster stronger relationships within the wider Catholic community.
• Help a local low income family reach fuller human dignity by realizing their dream of affordable home ownership.
• Makes possible a shared Christian value with Habitat for Humanity of giving people a hand up rather than a hand out.

Through the generous gift of $30,000 from an anonymous donor from within our diocese, we are able to get a head start on building our Pope Francis home.

How can I help?
The cost we need to raise to build this home with Habitat for Humanity is $60,000. (thanks to the generous donation mentioned above) You may wish to base your monetary pledge by looking at this formula:

18 build days:
¼ day = $837.50 • ½ day = $1,675.00 • Full day = $3,350.00
$75.00 per square foot

Checks should be payable to the Catholic Diocese of Wichita, who in turn will write one check to Habitat for Humanity. Any amount will be appreciated. In kind donations such as plumbing, lumber, etc. are accepted from Corporate Sponsors. For more information contact Mike Wescott at (316) 269-3917.
