To assist through time, talent and resources for youth discerning God’s call,and for those who have responded to God’s call

One of the essential elements of support is demonstrating respect, gratitude, and love for those who have accepted the call to religious life and priesthood and those who are discerning God’s call. Priests, religious, seminarians and novices need to know, on a human level, their commitment to God has value. As with anything of “value”, there is also a personal investment of our energy. Encouraging with our own talents and skills assists religious and priests and demonstrates support for the efforts of building up the Kingdom. In utilizing our talents, driven by our faith and shared vision, we show priests and religious that they are not alone in their mission to serve God. Our “investment in their vision” gives their vocation stronger meaning, deeper value, and greater joy. Christmas Call to Sharing

Each year the Christmas Call to Sharing provides our diocesan family an opportunity to support the Priests Retirement and Education Fund through a special collection at Christmas. In the weeks leading up to that Christmas collection, the seminarians for the Diocese of Wichita present a short, scripted pulpit talk thanking people for supporting them while they are discerning their vocation and being formed as the future priests for our diocese. Financial Support for Seminarians

Individuals and groups can support vocations through the TOGETHER vision, or donors can give through: cash, bequests, IRA gifts, charitable gift annuities, seminary burses, charitable trusts, etc. For more information about any of these gift types, please contact the Office of Development and Planned Giving at 316-269-3917 or This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. Vocations Recognition Breakfast or Dinner

Your parish vocation prayer team could hold an annual vocation breakfast or dinner with displays about priests and sisters serving in the diocese. Then, have a speaker and/or film to help parishioners become more aware the little things each of us can do to promote vocations. Some resources are available from the Office of Vocations.
