Director of Liturgical Music, Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception




Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, the Mother Church of the Diocese of Wichita, is seeking a part-time Director of Liturgical Music due to the pending retirement of the current Director.  Our Cathedral is well known for its tradition of outstanding liturgical music, and we are seeking a gifted, energetic, strongly faith-filled person to lead our liturgical music program and continue that tradition. 


The Director is under the direct supervision of the Rector while working in close collaboration with the Diocesan Office of Worship who represents the Bishop.  In accordance with established policies and procedures and Church liturgical documents, the Director will lead the parish choir and associated music operations in planning, execution and celebration of parish liturgies at Church holy days and Diocesan special events. 


Must be a practicing Catholic in good standing, able to partake in the full sacramental life of the Church, and an active steward in their parish.  Must have prior experience as a Director of Liturgical music and possess a college degree or higher in music, with emphasis in either Performance, Theory & Composition, or Theater.
