| The Diocese of Wichita has taken great care in the development of your benefit programs. These benefits have been structured to provide employees of the diocese with a fringe benefit package that is just and competitive in the market place. Described below is a brief review of the benefits available to all full time (working 30 hours or more per week on a regular basis) employees throughout the Catholic Diocese of Wichita.
Benefit administration for the health, life insurance, disability, and section 125 Flexible Benefit Plan is provided through Mutual Assurance Administrators and linked to the preferred health care network of Via Christi Health Systems. Administration of the retirement plan is provided by NestEgg Consulting Inc. It is the policy of the Catholic Diocese of Wichita that salary or bonus not be given in lieu of benefits. Benefits are provided for the health and welfare of employees and their families. Pay in lieu acts as an enticement away from participation and could contribute to employees going without insurance coverage. Additionally, participation by employees in health insurance is discretionary, and therefore is not considered part of the employee’s taxable compensation.
