The Respect Life & Social Justice Office assists the bishop in proclaiming the dignity of human life—created in the Image of God—as the basis for the fundamental human right to life; and applying the Church’s social doctrine to local situations.
Serves as a resource to the bishop on matters of respect life for all human life and the application of the church’s social doctrine.
Serves as an ongoing resource to parishes, schools, and institutions in their efforts to implement programs linking catechesis, the spiritual and corporal works of mercy, and liturgies and devotions to respect for all human life and church’s social doctrine.
Develops diocesan efforts that promote respect for human life and social justice as an essential dimension of Christian discipleship; and collaborates with parishes and institutions to this end.
Collaborates with the other diocesan Pro-Life and Social Justice Directors in Kansas, and with the Kansas Catholic Conference, concerning educational and non-partisan political programs, and advocacy projects about local, national, and international concerns regarding Respect Life and Social Justice.
