Judith Leonard is inviting engaged and married couples to learn how their relationships can be a reflection of the trinitarian nature of God and how to live married lives as God intends.
Leonard, director of the diocesan Office of Family Life and Natural Family Planning, is inviting couples to experience a new outlook on the various natural family planning methods approved by the church and recommended by our Holy Father.
“Our beloved popes have written many ‘love letters’ to us in the form of encyclicals,” she said.
“One, called Humanae Vitae (Of Human Life), by Pope Paul VI, addresses the church’s stance on contraception and sterilization. He does not condemn anyone but is very inviting as he clears up any confusion brought about by the secular world.”
Leonard said Pope Paul helps the faithful understand why the church’s teachings enrich and bless the lives of those who follow their true design.
“He defines responsible parenting and defends human life. His many predictions regarding the consequences of abortion, contraception, and sterilization have come true and he wants the best for us: to ultimately attain Heaven. He helps us to understand the beautiful sacrament of marriage and its purpose.”
