Speaker's Bio: (For Maury Kershen herself)  - Maury Kerschen was born in Kingman, KS, and moved to Seattle, Washington, at the age of eight.  After her graduation from Kansas State University in 2002 with a degree in Political Science and Public Relations, she moved to St. Louis, Missouri.  While in St. Louis, Maury was trained in the dynamics of retreat ministry with the Archdiocese of St. Louis' REAP Team.  After a short time, she moved to Wichita, KS, to accept a position as Director of Student Activities at St. Paul's Newman Center on the Wichita State University campus.  In 2004, she attended St. Paul's Institute for Catholic Evangelization in Madison, Wis.  While serving in the Diocese of Wichita's Young Adult Ministry Board in 2004 and 2005, she co-founded the Diocesan Chastity Task Force and developed the Project Freedom retreat program.  Maury married her husband Brian in 2006 and then spent two years as an independent Contractor for Pure and Simple Abstinence Education, Inc. educating teens and parents about the importance of living a sexually abstinent lifestyle before marriage.  Maury has given countless talks on chastity, Catholic courtship, and evangelization to middle school and high school youth, college students, young adults and parents.  She and Brian have three beautiful children: Ave Maria (age 5), Seton (age 2) and Faustina (age 1).
