Kidzcope to host Tinsel and Tears camp on Dec. 3
Kidzcope, formerly known as Three Trees, will host a camp for children between 3 and 18 who are grieving a death.
The camp is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, at Church of the Magdalen, 12626 E. 21st N.
The camp is free and are designed to be fun and to assist families with their holiday grief, start conversations, and begin new traditions.

Catholic school music teacher honored
Denny Dusek, a music teacher at St. Mary School in Newton and Blessed Sacrament School in Wichita, received the Wichita Arts Council Burton Pell Award for 2011 on Thursday, Nov. 10, at a ceremony in the Drury Plaza Hotel Broadview. Dusek played three songs after a video of his work was shown. The award focuses attention on the importance of the arts as they relate to the quality of life in the area and honors those who have made major creative achievements or significant contributions to cultural growth or development. Dusek, a saxophonist, recording artist, and band leader, is a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Parish, Wichita.
