The 21st annual Holy Family Camp will be held Monday through Friday, June 14-18, at the Salvation Army’s Hiawatha Campus and Retreat Center, 1601 W. 51st St. N., Wichita.
This year’s camp, “Dancing with God,” promises to be a spiritually, socially, and physically rich experience for campers and volunteers.
The camp features daily religious activities and lessons about how we might “dance with God with his guidance.” It will also offer arts, crafts, a petting zoo, the Holden Family entertainers, accordion players, and a visit from Kasey the Clown. The annual talent show and dance will be held.
The camp, sponsored by the diocesan Ministry with Persons with Disabilities, is open to persons age 10 and above but is limited to 80 campers.
Registered nurses are at the camp at all times to take care of medical needs. Each camper will have a volunteer friend who will be with them throughout the week. The camp is still in need of nurses. To volunteer call Streeter at the number below.
The ministry has been able to keep the cost at $110 per camper, because of the generosity of Knights of Columbus councils and volunteers.
