Volunteers are needed for the 21st annual Holy Family Camp which will be held June 13-18. This year’s theme is “Dancing with God.”
Fifty to 60 volunteers are needed to assist persons with various disabilities. The camp has a Christian setting with fellowship, lessons, singing, arts, crafts, swimming, and great food. In addition to activities, Mass will be celebrated.
Not only do volunteers share their lives, they develop an increased awareness and appreciation of the difficulties others encounter every day and the extraordinary efforts required by some to complete simple tasks.
Many have been volunteering for years with some taking vacation time to help. Some started when they were in high school and are now out of college. Several said they just wanted to get their community or service hours over with, but just could not believe how rewarded they felt and could not wait until next year.
