Revisiting the 1978 Pastoral Statement of U.S. Bishops on People with Disabilities - It has been 35 years since the Bishops of the United States wrote the Pastoral Statement on Persons with Disabilities. How far have we come in ministering to those with disabilities? Indeed, what does "disability" mean 35 years later, (e.g. mental illness, autism, post traumatic stress disorder)? What implications do these changes have in our ministry? What political, social and economic influences are impacting services to people with disabilities and what should be the is the response of the Church? What do we, as priests, need to know to better serve our parishioners with disabilities and their families?

Tom Racunas, Director of the Ministry with Persons with Disabilities, will help us explore answers to these questions on this important topic.  Choose to attend either the workshop on Thursday, September 5, at the Spiritual Lofe Center or Friday, September 6, at St. Patrick Parish in Parsons.

Deadline to register is August 28.  The cost of the workshop is $30.00.  Please make checks payable to Priest Retirement and Education Fund.
