Newly Ordained Workshop 1

Sunday, July 21, 2013| Christ the King Rectory | 5:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

The first workshop for our newly ordained priest, Fr. Rick Kotrba, will take place at Christ the King rectory on Sunday evening, July 21.  We will pray Evening Prayer together, share a meal and then share the importance of priestly formation and how this will take place in these first months following ordination.  This formation is an ongoing journey throughout all five stages of the priest's life, as outlined in the Basic Plan of Priestly Formation.  A major discussion item will be the importance of rectory life and how to interact with the pastor.  For more information about this workshop, please contact Fr. Thursday, August 8, 2013 | Chancery Office/Reading Room | 12:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.

The second workshop for our newly ordained priests of the Class of 2013 will take place at the Chancery Office on Thursday, August 8, 2013 beginning with lunch at 12:00 in the Reading Room.  Two main topics will be presented at this workshop:  1. How to prepare an engaged couple for the Sacrament of Marriage, including instructions on how to fill out the Pre-Nuptial File.  2.  How to serve as an advocate for a petitioner who comes seeking a Decree of Nullity, including the proper manner of completing the Preliminary Petition.  Fr. Mike Simone and Fr. John Hotze will be the mian presenters at this workshop with staff support offered by Denise Northup and Roberta Rau  For more information about this workshop, please contact Fr. The third workshop for our newly ordained priest of the Class of 2013 will take place on Thursday, September 26.  This workshop focuses upon parish finances, human resource issues and employee benefits.   Presenters will include Bryan Coulter and Therese Seiler.  The workshop then changes pace to the more spiritual component as Fr. Ken Van Haverbeke will lead a reflection on the spirituality of diocesan priesthood and our spirituality of stewardship.  For more information about this workshop, please contact Fr.
