The Office of Faith Formation welcomes Dr. Sean Innerst and Mr. Jose Gonzalez to the 2017 Summer Catechetical Summit. Participants will hear talks by Dr. Innerst and Mr. Gonzalez as well as engage in hands-on activities that will help them engage their students in the Church's teaching on Morality and the Beatitudes. Break out sessions at Bishop Carroll will also be given by Cathy Becker of  RCL Benziger, Karen Oblinger - DRE at St. Michael, Mulvane, and Danny Krug - Director of Hispanic Ministry for the Diocese of Wichita.  Cost is $20.  Please call the office to register. 316-269-3940  (Para español 316-269-3919)

 

 

Sean Innerst is Associate Professor and Dean of the Augustine Institute in Denver, a new catechetical program for lay and diaconal students.  He has contributed to four books, including the Encyclopedia of Catholic Doctrine from Our Sunday Visitor, and is the author of the soon to be released Blessing to Blessing: The Catechism of the Catholic Church as a Journey of Faith and a new four-part series on the Catechism called Pillars: A Journey Through the Catechism, both from Ascension Press. 
   Jose Gonzalez joined the team at Sophia Institute for Teachers after more than 10 years as a high school teacher at Bishop Carroll Catholic High School in Wichita, Kansas. In addition to teaching, he has also worked as a youth minister and a coordinator of Totus Tuus in the Archdiocese of Denver. Jose is also an experienced speaker and presenter whose experiences include youth and Confirmation gatherings, RCIA classes, and adult faith formation. Jose has a BA in theology with a concentration in religious education from Franciscan University of Steubenville, and an MA in evangelization and catechesis from the Augustine Institute. Jose and his wife, Mary Beth, have two daughters.
