Totus Tuus banquet celebrating 10th year
Bishop Jackels to celebrate Mass before event; Father Gorges is auctioneer
WINFIELD – The Annual Totus Tuus Banquet and Auction will celebrate its 10th year on Saturday, Feb. 6, at Baden Square in Winfield. Knights of Columbus Council #4713 is the sponsoring organization of this fundraiser dedicated to Catholic youth.
All proceeds from the event help finance Totus Tuus, the summer catechetical camp and parish program. The banquet and auction has raised over $200,000 in nine years. Last year, over 2,500 youth in the Wichita Diocese were active in Totus Tuus in some capacity.
Bishop Michael O. Jackels will be the celebrant of the 4:30 p.m. Mass at Holy Name Catholic Church, 400 E. Eighth Street, in Winfield, prior to the banquet. Bishop Jackels will also be a special guest at the banquet.
Following Mass, there will be a social hour at Baden Square and attendees will be able to view the items available in the special raffle, silent auction, and live auction before the banquet meal. Father Bernard X. Gorges has once again volunteered to serve as auctioneer. The meal is being prepared and served by Corporate Caterers of Wichita.
A video presentation celebrating the history of Totus Tuus has been scheduled as a special feature this year.
