Hutch store to sponsor movie about Fatima on Jan. 9

HUTCHINSON – The movie, “The 13th Day,” about the miracle of Fatima, will be shown at 7 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, in the historic Fox Theatre in downtown Hutchinson. Tickets will be sold at two for $5.
Ronald Kelley of Sarah’s Catholic Bookstore said he hopes to fill the theater for the family movie.
“This movie should be of interest to all Catholics and others who are interested in learning more about the events at Fatima that were witnessed by 70,000 people,” he said. “It is a wonderful testimony of the faith of the three children and the struggles their families and the community had in trying to deal with the children’s story.”
Kelley said he and his wife saw a preview screening of the movie last summer.
“We made a decision that we would use our family bookstore to make this movie available to as large an audience as possible,” he said.
The 13th Day dramatizes the true story of three young shepherds who experienced six apparitions of Our Lady between May and October 1917, which culminated in the final prophesied Miracle of the Sun on Oct. 13. Abducted from their homes, thrown into prison and interrogated under the threat of death in the government’s attempt to silence them, the children remained true to their story about the crucial messages from Mary of prayer, repentance and conversion for the world.
