John Michael Talbot visits Wichita

Musician and composer John Michael Talbot performed and evangelized at a concert Tuesday, Sept. 22, in DeMattias Hall at Newman University, Wichita.
In addition to playing beautifully crafted songs and inviting those attending to sing along, Talbot talked about his journey from Methodism to the Jesus Movement to Catholicism, and from being a member of Mason Proffit, a country folk/rock band, to becoming Catholic music’s number one recording artist.
After becoming Catholic he became a Secular Franciscan and started A Little Portion, a house of prayer, that he moved to Eureka Springs, Ark. He founded the Brothers and Sisters of Charity at the Little Portion Hermitage.
